Quilted jackets are indeed a popular trend, and this is a great opportunity to dive into their construction. Join Morgan for a 3-session class to make the beginner friendly Elemental Coat.
The Elemental Coat is a loose, A-line coat suitable for all skill levels. You can choose the coat length, sleeve length, and decide whether to add a hood or collar. It can be made from old quilts, quilted fabrics, canvas, denim, or corduroy.
In this first meeting, we will talk about coat styles, fabrics, linings, and sizing. We will cut the pattern and muslin, then sew the muslin to check the fit. You will get a list of needed materials, including fabric types and other supplies. Please come with any questions to help ensure everyone feels ready. The next class will focus on making your quilted jacket, so bring your enthusiasm and creativity!
